A deleted and two new skin.ini sections, new icons and the additional entries therefore
- The section [Scroll Marker] is gone, but now we have the new sections [Scroll Marker Up] and [Scroll Marker Down]; in use are the same images from the skin-folder `/scroll_marker` as before, but the arrows appearing now as `Corner topleft/topright for `up` and `Corner bottomleft/bottomright` for `down`

- New are the following entries inside the section [Images]; `Mail Ignored = icons/mail_ignored.png`, `Contact38 = contacts/contact_followed.png` and `Contact39 = contacts/contact_ignored.png` using the aforementioned new icons. The old entry `Mail Active Contacts = contacts/contact_known.png` have changed to `Mail Active Contacts = contacts/contact_followed.png` (the old image is still in use as `Contact0 = contacts/contact_known.png`)

3 images for the scroll marker have changed, partly together with the entries/filenames
- The entries for the top/bottom tiles in the section [Scroll Marker] have changed from `scroll_marker/dash_line_anim.png` to `scroll_marker/bg-line.png` (so there is no more animation for the line); the new bright grey line image `scroll_marker/bg-line.png` replaces now `scroll_marker/dash_line_anim.png`
- Also the arrow images `scroll_marker/arrow-left.png` and `scroll_marker/arrow-right.png` have changed to a bright grey
Note:
You can change now the behaviour for the new scroll marker: Opera:config - User Prefs - Enable Scroll Marker = 0 is Off (default), 1 is On (if you reach the top or bottom), 2 is On (always) - in the last preview we had only On/Off with a checkbox
Changed ini files:

22. August 2008 - Skin changes since the final 9.52-10108
New sections for `Incomplete message toolbar` and `Scroll marker`, additional icon entries and some new icons
- New is the skin.ini section [Incomplete Message Toolbar] - defines a new toolbar which appears in case of incomplete downloaded mails (due to `Low bandwith mode` available per account; note the new checkbox in Tools - Mail and Chat accounts - Edit - Incoming); the `Incomplete message toolbar` appears then above the mail body and includes the button `Fetch complete message` (after pressing this button you have to check mail again in order to complete the download - here with a pop-account - why not directly... ?)
- New is also the section [Scroll Marker] - defines the left/right arrows and the animated .png (apng) as dotted line to find in the new skinfolder scroll_marker/. The scrollmarker you have to enable in Opera:config-User Prefs-Enable Scroll Marker - to see then while scrolling
- New are also the entries `Mail Unread No Body = icons/mail_unread_nobody.png`, `Mail Ignored No Body = icons/mail_ignored_nobody.png` and `Incomplete Message image = buttons/mail-incomplete.png` in the section [Images] - referring to the new icon images (the new icon `buttons/mail-incomplete.png` seems to be a smaller copy of the `dialog_images/info.png`)
- New are also the entries `Mail Followed No Body = icons/bookmark_unvisited.png` and `Mail Followed = icons/bookmark.png` in Images] - in use are here the already existing icons
- Note also the changed `icons/mail_nobody.png`
Changed ini files:

- The problems with the mail view icons and the inverted `Window document icon loading/unread` on the tab buttons, mentioned in the last changelog, are wiped out
Changed ini files:

8. August 2008 - Skin changes since the preview 9.52-10100
There are some changed skin.ini sections and two new icons.
- Deleted the entry `Height = 30` in [Pagebar skin] (more than 30 shifted the icons/images on the head/tail and the plus-icon/arrow to the top)
- Changed the `Text color = #D0D0D0` to `Text color = E0E0E0` in [Pagebar button skin] - it`s a brighter grey in order to differ better between unread and normal tabs
- Added `Padding right = 1` and `Color = Window` in [Edit skin]. The new right padding gives 1px less space between the right border and the content, eg icons at the right of the address field (due to the default of 2px). The window color is defined now through the operating system (there are differences: `Color = window` draws a 1px border on top of the defined border and draws also the inner-behind-text-part of some edit/search fields. But every other color here draws only the 1px border on top of the defined border)
- Changed Margins and deleted Paddings in [Push button skin] and [Push default button skin]. But Margins have no effect here and paddings shifts only the text inside the button (now the default of 2px padding is valid). If you like to see more space around the push buttons you have to change the paddings for the [Dialog Button Border Skin] (btw. `Spacing=` in the [Dialog Button Border Skin] seems to have no effect)
- Deleted the sections [Push button skin.disabled] and [Push default button skin.disabled], but they can still be in use if you don`t like the automatically dimmed images (to see eg in the `Tools - Mail and Chat accounts - Add...` dialog)
- Added the forgotten section [Start popup skin] which draws the individual background for the Start bar
- Added `Padding top = 1` and `Padding bottom = 2` to the [Addressbar skin], so we have now 1px less because of the default padding of 2px for both. Added also `Margin top = 0` and `Margin bottom = 0` - which have no effect here
- Added the lacking entry `Lock panel = buttons/lock_page.png` which refers to the already existing `buttons/lock_page.png`; it`s for the missed `Lock panel - button` in the Links panel - the padlock is in use also for locked tabs (ways to dark there imho)
- Added the entry `Mail Filter Inverted = icons/tab_filter.png` - this icon is new - for the use on the tabs
- Added the entry `Contact0 Inverted = icons/tab_from.png` - this icon is new too - for the use on the tabs
- It seems that there are some difficulties with the inverted mail view icons on the tab buttons, as well as with the inverted `Window document icon` and it`s `loading/unread` variants there - I think that`s only temporary. In the previous preview 10100 it was only the unusual space between the words `Icon` and `Inverted` inside the entry `Window Document Unread Icon......Inverted = icons/tab_page_unread.png` (space dotted here) which prevented from the correct use - but in the current preview 10103 there seems to be a hardcoded bug which is responsible.
- Another bug seems to be settled: the up and down arrows at the right of `number-input-fields` are back (eg in opera:config)

- Menu.ini: Moved the `Advanced` submenu for the internal shell to the bottom of the [Transfers Item Popup Menu] section

Opera 9.51, 2. preview, 10074 [⊗]
25. June 2008 - No skin changes since the preview 9.51-10071, but this time I examined the new fallback behaviour in 9.5x a bit.
About the new fallback behaviour:
In 9.27 and older versions we had several skin parts without own skin sections; therefore we had some general sections, eg `Window skin` or `Browser window skin`. But since 9.5 we have own sections for much more skin parts; some worked before too and some are new. So it was necessary to introduce a new fallback behaviour, otherwise the new or changed parts appears also in older custom skins used with 9.5x as strange elements.
- Never change the filename or the location of the new standard_skin.zip! This skin works as fallback repository if a custom skin have lacking sections or button-icons.
- For a custom skin it is necessary to set `Fallback background = 1` and `Fallback foreground = 1` in the section [Options]! These settings makes sure that lacking sections (background) and lacking button-icons (foreground) are taken from the standard-skin. Also future sections or button-icons appears then this way in a custom skin.
- In the new standard-skin you find the entry `Fallback version = 3` in several sections. These entries are only necessary in the standard skin - there is no need therefore and no effect in a custom skin!
- The general fallback behaviour can be set by the entry `Version = 2` (or 3) in the section [Info] of a custom skin, as follows:
- In a custom skin used only for 9.27 and older versions, the entry `Version = 3` in [Info] have no effect; the old entry `Version = 2` is still valid then. The fallback behaviour in 9.27 is always: a lacking section have first fallback to the SAME section from the old standard-skin, and if this section is lacking too there, then the fallback goes to the BASE section from the custom-skin (and if the base is lacking too in the custom-skin, then fallback is the corresponding base from old standard-skin). Please note, that the BASE section means eg `Window skin` is the base of `Addressbar skin`, and the SAME section means eg `Addressbar skin` from the custom-skin - `Addressbar skin` from the old/new standard-skin.
- In a custom skin for 9.5x (and older versions) the entry `Version =` in [Info] have effect under several circumstances:
- Sections which DOESN`T HAVE `Fallback version = 3` entry in the new standard-skin, custom-skin with [Info] Version=2 or Version=3 in 9.5x: fallback to the BASE from custom-skin, but if the base is lacking too: fallback to the SAME from new standard-skin (and if same is lacking too in the standard-skin, to the base there)
- Sections which HAVE `Fallback version = 3` entry in the new standard-skin, custom-skin with [Info] Version=2 in 9.5x: fallback to the BASE from custom-skin, but if the base is lacking too: fallback to the BASE from new standard-skin
- Sections which HAVE `Fallback version = 3` entry in the new standard-skin, custom-skin with [Info] Version=3 in 9.5x: fallback to the SAME from new standard-skin
In comparison:
- All sections, custom-skin with [Info] Version=2 or Version=3 in 9.27: fallback to the SAME from old standard-skin, but if same is lacking too: fallback to the BASE from custom-skin (and if the base is lacking too in the custom-skin, to the base from the old standard-skin)
Sections which have the `Fallback version = 3` entry in the new standard-skin:
- [Addressbar Skin]
- [Chatbar skin]
- [Mailbar Skin]
- [Mail Compose Toolbar Skin]
- [Mail Compose Window Skin]
- [Mail Header Toolbar]
- [Mainbar Skin]
- [Menu Skin]
- [Navigationbar Skin]
- [Pagebar Floating Skin]
- [Pagebar Floating Button Skin]
- [Pagebar Skin]
- [Pagebar Head Skin]
- [Pagebar Head Button Skin]
- [Pagebar Tail Skin]
- [Panel Full Toolbar Skin]
- [Panel Treeview Skin]
- [Personalbar Skin]
- [Statusbar Skin]
- [Transfer Panel Details Skin]
- [Viewbar Skin]
Summary about the new fallback behaviour: it`s not that easy to handle since the old standard skin is no longer available for fallback; with Version = 3 or 2 in [Info] we can choose now if a custom skin should have fallback to the new/additional sections or in the old way (as said: without the old standard-skin then).

- About the mail header icons: these is a relict from Opera 7, but now it can be reawakened. You find the outcommented entries at the end of the skin.ini for 9.5, together with a note about 80px reserved space/right margin. Use them as the following example: Mail Unread Header = icons/filter_open.png,,,,-60 The example draws the icon in front of the status title in the mailbar with margin right of -60px (note that only `Margin right` works - other space have to be inside your image). Please note also, that the headers are completed now with the new entry Mail Filter Header.

5. June 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-10034:
- New standard-skin, but also some changes in the old classic-skin
Remarks:
- Since we have a new standard-skin, I write about all the news and changes in separate parts (standard-skin / classic-skin), changes in other ini files are noted together.
Classic-skin, new/changed:
- Most important change is the file name, the old skin is now called classic_skin.zip (with this change, the skin works no longer as fallback-skin).
- Added in the skin.ini inside the section [Options] are the entries Large images = 0, Fallback background = 1 and Fallback foreground = 1. The Large images = 0 entry prevents from appearing the checkbox `Large images` in Appearance - Toolbars (there are no separate large images in this skin). The Fallback... entries says that if a section in this skin is lacking, there should be displayed the accordant section from the standard-skin (except [Info] and [Options]).
- Changed is the complete section [Browser skin], most important is there the Padding right = 0 entry - so the 1px at the right of the scrollbar is now in use too! In previous skin versions this change produced bad effects in the background for the contact picture (Contact properties - General), but since we have there an own skin (see below), the problem is gone.
- New is the section [Web Image Browser Skin] which draws the background for the picture mentioned above; it is a clone of the Browser skin but here with Padding right = 1.
Standard-skin, new:
Please note, that it is not yet possible to report about every detail here; so I have to focus a bit to the most important differences - details follows by and by. Note also, that a lot of the new things are `work in progress`, so they may change again until the skin is finished.
- The new skin is now the standard_skin.zip - please never change the file name or the location of the standard-skin, this skin works as fallback for lacking or future things.
- Changed is the version entry in the section [Info], now it`s Version = 3 and it means approx. that this skin uses all the new things. The old value Version = 2 is still valid for an old custom skin; there the new things should not appear - so it is not necessary to change the version in an old custom skin!
- If you take the new standard-skin as base for a custom skin, the most important is to change first the Fallback entries to the value 1 in the section [Options]. Please change then from Fallback background = 0 and Fallback foreground = 0 to Fallback background = 1 and Fallback foreground = 1. So you are sure, that lacking sections or lacking entries in [Boxes] and [Images] in your custom skin are drawn by the standard-skin (except [Info] and [Options])! Default values for both is 1 if the entries not exists. For a custom skin, based on the new standard skin, it is also recommended to remove all the Fallback version = 3 entries you find in a lot of the sections - these entries are made for the standard-fallback-skin only in order to define the fallback behaviour for custom skins (if a custom skin have Version = 3 in [Options] then this skin have fallback to all the sections with Fallback version = 3, but if a custom skin is defined as Version = 2 in [Options] then this skin have no fallback to the sections with Fallback version = 3).
- New is the entry Pageclosebuttonontop = 1 in the section [Options]; the value 1 draws the pagebar close buttons on top of the tabs, value 0 draws the close buttons vertically centered. Default value is 0 if the entry not exists.
- New is also the entry Inverted Pagebar Icons = 1 in [Options]; since the tabs have a dark background, it is necessary to have alternative color-inverted icons which appearing there. The new skin have already such icons, eg icons/tab_label_todo.png which is inverted in comparison to icons/label_todo.png. So the value 1 displays inverted icons, but with value 0 you see the normal icons on the tabs. Default is 0 if the entry not exists. Here I have to mention something unfinished; also the pagebar head and tail have a dark background now, but there are no inverted icons possible...
So, that was a first portion of info. I`m perhaps sometimes wrong or not yet that precise with my statements about the new skin, but I hope it helps for the first tries - follows more.

28. Mai 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-10014:
- Changed tiles for spatial navigation.
Changed:
- All the tiles from the skin folder /a are changed a bit; now only the blue border without blueysh center is displayed for spatial navigation (the new tiles eats now 34 kb file size instead of 2.5kb before!)
- I have to correct something, in the changelog for 9789 I said: "...that the additional section [Active element inside image] is not mandatory; delivers only the items for [Active element inside] via Clone = Active element inside image...". This is not or no longer true, but true is that the section [Active element inside image] draws the blue border without center for spatial navigation (and delivers also the blue border for [Active element inside] via clone - there with the center too).
Changed ini files:

- Correction in the skin.ini, from [Cycler page button skin.attention.selected] to the correct [Cycler page button skin.selected.attention], so now the blue text color works also on selected/unread lines in the tab cycler (Ctrl+Tab)
Still unfinished:
- The `Menu skin`, `Tooltip skin` and `Browser skin` (mentioned in the previous changelogs)

20. Mai 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9981:
- Two new ini-sections for customizing the text colors in the address dropdown, a new icon/entry for `News no body`, new entries for `Discard draft`, `Move to trash` and `Mail filter`.
New:
- New in the skin.ini are the sections [Address dropdown URL label] and [Address dropdown title label]. For both you can change only the `Text color=`. In case of the URL label the color is currently green (Text color = #006600) and for the title label it is blue (Text color = #000099)
- New in the section [Images] is the entry News no body = icons/news_nobody.png which refers to the new image icons/news_nobody.png (a dimmed version of the existing image icons/news_unread.png)
- New in [Images] are the following entries too: Discard draft = buttons/delete.png, Move to trash = icons/trash.png and Mail filter = icons/folder_closed.png (these entries referring to existing images)
- In case of the `Mail filter` mentioned above, you can add also the entry `Mail filter.open = icons/folder_open.png` so the old behaviour eg in the mail panel is back - with the major difference, that we have now the possibility to create own icons for the mail filters
Note:
- The icon or animation for `Mail Accounts Busy` appears now correctly during checking mails as icon for the checked accounts in the mail panel.
Still unfinished:
- The `Cycler page button skin.attention.selected / .selected.attention`, `Menu skin`, `Tooltip skin` and `Browser skin` (mentioned in the previous changelogs)
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: Several changes in [Ask cookie dialog], several changes and additions in [Certificate details dialog], changes and additions too in [Certificate install wizard], changes and deletions in [Clear private data dialog], an addition for a new checkbox in the [New preferences dialog]. It seems, that the old checkboxes for `Clear history of typed-in adresses` and `Clear history of visited links` in the [Clear private data dialog] are gone, and that we have a new checkbox in Tools - Preferences - Advanced - History: `Remember content on visited addresses`.
- Keyboard.ini: Changed from `Del shift = Move to trash` to `Del shift = Delete permanently` in [Mail window]
- Menu.ini: Changes and additions in [Mail item popup menu] as well as in the [Delete mail menu]
- Toolbar.ini: New section [Mail filter toolbar.content] with several new entries, changed entry about `Undelete` in [Mail toolbar.content], changed entry about `Discard draft` and corrected `Smiley happy"` entry in [Mail compose toolbar.content], changed entry about `Undelete` also in [Customize toolbar.content], added `Button style = 0` in [Status toolbar.style], added entry about `mediumscreen mode` in [Status toolbar.content] (that`s `Fit to width` in the status bar)
- Language file, .lng: A lot of changes and additions about eg `Certificates`, `Phishing/Malware` and many other things

Changed ini files:

6. Mai 2008 - Skin changes since the preview / beta2-9945:
- Text color for notifiers now possible, additional sections for the `Cycler page buttons` (with a bug), a new icon for `Link-folder` and a new icon entry for `Trash large`, as well as a changed animation from .gif to .png (apng). Finally the `dropup arrow` is back.
New:
- Skin.ini: Added Text color = #000000 to the section [Notifier], so now we are able to set the text color there (but we still cannot change the Red hover color in the notifier!)
- Skin.ini: New additional sections [Cycler page button skin.attention] and [Cycler page button skin.attention.selected] for a tab-analog behaviour in the page cycler (Ctrl+Tab). But there is a bug though: .attention.selected doesn`t works - it have to be .selected.attention!
- Skin.ini: New entry in the section [Images], Target folder = icons/folder_closed_link.png referring to the new/added icon image
- Skin.ini: New entry in the section [Images], Trash large = icons/trash.png, the icon therefore is already existing
- New icon-image icons/folder_closed_link.png as mentioned above
- The icons/dropup.png image is back; that was lacking since preview-9807
Changed:
- Skin.ini: Changed entry in the section [Images], from Thumbnail busy image = progress/busy_anim.GIF to Thumbnail busy image = progress/busy_anim.PNG, so now we have here an Apng-animation (which have 32kb file size!)
Notes:
- Please note the new developer tool `Dragonfly` (to reach in Tools - Advanced - Developer tools)
Still unfinished:
- The `Menu skin` (may appear also in the menu buttons), `Tooltip skin` (no padding for common tooltips) and `Browser skin` (1px padding right is bothering the use of scrollbar knob), mentioned `since ages`!
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: Completely renewed [Ask cookie dialog]. Position change in the [Customize toolbar dialog]. Several changes in the [Server properties dialog] and changes in the [New preferences dialog] (chat_notification_checkbox appears where?). Renewed [Security information dialog]
- Keyboard.ini: Changed preconditions for `v = speak selection` in [Application]
- Menu.ini: New section: [Note folder popup menu]
- Toolbar.ini: Changed icon name for `Closed pages menu` in [Customize toobar browser.content], [Pagebar tail newstyle.content] and [Pagebar tail.content].

17. April 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9903:
- Changed padlock icons as well as changed mail-without-body icon.
Changed:
- The images buttons/secure.png and buttons/security_4.png have changed a little bit: before they had a size of 17x22px, now they are 22x22px and at the left I see now 2px invisible border and at the right 3px, in order to have some space between the icons and the following text.
- Changed is also the icon icons/mail_nobody.png which is now a dimmed envelope instead of the old broken envelope (incomprehensible is for me the file size of 2805 bytes; my preferred program compresses this png to 324 bytes...).
Notes:
- In order to synchronize `Notes` we have now the according checkbox in File - Synchronize Opera - Opera link options. It seems that older notes (from 9.27) are not yet synchronized - for me it works only with notes from previous 9.5 previews. So it works at least partly, but on the Opera link page I still cannot find anything about synced notes...
Still unfinished:
- No changes in the unfinished `Menu skin` (may appear also in the menu buttons), `Tooltip skin` (no padding for common tooltips) and `Browser skin` (1px padding right is bothering the use of scrollbar knob), mentioned in the last changelogs.
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: New entry about `D_OPERA_LINK_NOTES` in the [Opera Login Link Dialog]. New entries about `Confirm_new_group`, `label_for_Confirm_password_edit` and `Confirm_password_edit` in the [Security Password Dialog]. A lot of size/position changes in [Manage Certificates Dialog]. One size/position change in [Account Properties Dialog]. A change about `DI_QT_PRINT_COLOR` in [Print Dialog]. And another size/position change in [Security Information Dialog].
- Keyboard.ini: Changed action for `Del shift`. Now it is `Move to trash` instead of the old `Delete mail`.
- Menu.ini: New section [Delete Mail Menu] with two new entries. Changed entry about deleting mail in [Mail Item Popup Menu]. Changed preconditions in [Windows Item Popup Menu]. - Toolbar.ini: New sections [Mail Filter Toolbar.content] with several new entries and [Mail Filter Toolbar.style]. Changed entry about `DI_IDSTR_M2_MAILVIEWTOOLBAR_UNDELETE` in [Mail Feed Toolbar.content].

8. April 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9864:
- Additional security button images (padlock) as well as changed background therefore in the addressbar, and some deleted old entries.
New/changed:
- New button-images buttons/secure.png and buttons/security_4.png with the corresponding entries in the skin.ini inside the section [Images]: High security simple = buttons/secure.png and Extended security = buttons/security_4.png (secure.png is a closed padlock in silver/grey and security_4.png is a closed padlock in gold/yellow). The new button.images appearing certificate-related inside the addressbar together with the new background therefore, but also the changed security button, reachable in Tools - Appearance - Buttons - Browser view, uses the new images.
- Changed are the sections [Security button skin] and [High assurance security button skin]: for both the old boxtile images are deleted - there are now the new boxstretch images trust_and_security_button/high_security.png (yellow for the `security button skin` - padlock silver/grey) and the trust_and_security_button/extended_security.png (green for the `high assurance security button skin` - padlock gold/yellow). It is highly recommended to draw these backgrounds in yellow and green and set colorize = 0, so these security items appears always and in each skin with approx. the same colors. In my opinion it is not a good idea to change the [Security button skin] to the type `Boxstretch`; this section is in use also in Opera versions before 9.5 (no boxstretch there), so such a custom skin is not compatible with the older Opera versions! Unclear is also the behaviour of all the `Fraud protection` items which appeared formerly on the same place in the addressbar.
Deleted:
- Deleted are some old entries in the section [Images]: Prefs Personal = contacts/contact_known.png, Prefs Browser = buttons/view.png, Prefs Pages = icons/page.png, Prefs Extensions = buttons/save.png, Prefs Network = buttons/security_3.png, Prefs None = icons/none.png (deleted are only the entries, but not the images - they appeared in the old preferences dialog in Opera before version 8).
- As mentioned above; the old security related background images are deleted: trust_and_security_button/high_assurance_bottom.png, high_assurance_center.png, high_assurance_left.png, high_assurance_top.png as well as trust_and_security_button/security_border.png and security_center.png (please note the comment about the changed `Security button skin` above!).
Notes:
- Please note the new possibility to synchronize `Notes` now; the corresponding checkbox you find in opera:config - Opera Sync - Sync notes. Tough the Opera link page seems not to be ready for notes...
- Note also that the security button you find in Tools - Appearance - Buttons - Browser view (`Customize toolbar browser view.content`) is changed now; added is the `Extended security` at the end.
Still unfinished:
- No changes in the unfinished `Menu skin`, `Tooltip skin` and `Browser skin` (Padding right there), mentioned in the last changelogs.
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: Changed entry about `login details` in the [Mail authentication failed dialog]. Changed entries about `Opera link`, `Label_auth_heading`, `Link_expand`, `Link_options_label`, Bm_checkbox`, `Sd_checkbox` and Pb_checkbox` in the [Opera login link dialog].
- Toolbar.ini: Additional entries about `M_security` in [Customize toolbar browser view.content] and [Example toolbar.content] (the section `Example toolbar.content` was visible in the old preferences dialog before v8)... . Deleted entry about `Accountstatus` in [Customize toolbars status.content].
- Language file (.lng): there are such a lot of new, changed and deleted entries - about 180 - to much to list them here... .

28. March 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9841:
- A new history icon-image and entry, as well as a changed padding entry.
New/changed:
- New icon-image icons/history.png with the corresponding entry in the skin.ini inside the section [Images]: History = icons/history.png (it is a smaller copy of the known `buttons/history.png`; appears where?).
- Changed back Padding right = 0 to Padding right = 1 inside the section [Browser skin]. A regression in my opinion; so the scrollbar have again 1px at the right which is not in use in order to scroll - unhandy!
Still unfinished:
- No changes in the unfinished `Menu skin` and `Tooltip skin`, mentioned in the last changelog.
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: Completely deleted sections [Opera account dialog], [Sync Login Dialog], [Sync Login Options Dialog] and [Sync Recovery Dialog]. Changed two entries in the [Server Properties Dialog].

18. March 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9815:
- A new widget icon-image, as well as some deleted sections not in use. New margin for the menu buttons and the menu skin is corrected now partly.
New/changed:
- New icon-image icons/widget_large.png with the corresponding entry in the skin.ini inside the section [Boxes]: Widget icon = icons/widget_large.png (it is a larger copy of the known `buttons/widget.png`; appears where?).
- The old unused sections [Startup dialog skin] and [Startup dialog header skin] are deleted now (the `Startup dialog skin` is still working).
- The section [Boxes] is moved to it`s old place above the `Images` section.
New/unfinished:
- The new section [Menu skin] uses now the correct `Browser window skin` if the section not exists; compatible now to older versions. But there is still the strange behaviour: if a boxtile or color is set for the `Menu skin`, this image/color appears in each hovered `Menu button`...
- In the section [Menu button skin] we can use now Margin too, so we have more possibilities to customize the menu bar. But the margins here are a bit strange; perhaps you have to increase the paddings too, because it seems that margin `eats` some padding...
- The paddings for the [Tooltip skin] still affects the speeddial thumbs and not as expected the common tooltips! For the speeddial thumbs we are already able to set padding in the section [Thumbnail widget skin]...
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: minor position/size changes in [Widget properties dialog]. Several additions/changes in [Server properties dialog]. Some additions/changes about `Quickfind` in [Content block dialog].
- Keyboard.ini: Changed entry about `C Ctrl Shift = Copy to note` in [Application]. New entry about `C Ctrl Alt = Copy to note` in [Application].
- Menu.ini: Changed entry about `Open widget` in the [Widget folder popup menu] section. Changed entry about `M-CREATE_SEARCH` in [Edit widget popup menu]. Additional entry about `Open in menu` in [Image popup menu]. Corrected entries about `Smiley tongue` and `Smiley pacman` in [Insert smiley menu].
- Toolbar.ini: Changed order in [Hotlist panel selector.content]. Additional entries about `Accountstatus` in [Customize toolbar status.content] and [Status toolbar.content].

29. February 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9807:
- A new section for the menu bar, as well as changed behaviour for the tooltip skin - both things seems to be not yet finished. Please note also the addendum about the menu skin.
New:
- New section [Menu skin] which allows to set a color or images separately for the menu bar. It seems NOT to be compatible with older Opera versions; if the new section not exists you see there now the [Window skin] (before it was the [Browser window skin]). Padding is currently not possible in this section; the only feasible padding here comes still from the [Menu button skin] (which is not a `toolbar padding`) - so the new section is not fully customizable and not backwards compatible (not yet, so I hope). ADDENDUM: If in the new section a border is defined or for instance images as boxtile, the `Menu skin` appears in each hovered menu button as repetition - obviously the new thing is not yet finished...
- New behaviour for the [Tooltip skin]: we can use now padding there, but - the padding affects the speeddial thumbs and not as expected the common tooltips! Remember: for the speeddial thumbs we are already able to set padding in the section [Thumbnail widget skin]...
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: minor position/size changes in [Startup dialog].
- Menu.ini: Changed entry about `Create search` in the [Readonly edit widget popup menu] section.
- Toolbar.ini: Additional section names for Pagebar head/tail; though without any effect - seems to be a test leftover.
- Language file (.lng): new entry about `Manage search engines` (-648513097), as well as again several changed entries (-740353027, -1145474466, 874543792, 1084336304, -2108836572, -1178357299, 422330584, -314779598, -819618716, -791839446, -1204073099, -374338826 and -1621289515). A lot of entries are moved; very hard to find the differences...
Notes:
- Please note the new option `Manage search engines` at the end of the context menu for the speeddial search field.

22. February 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9789:
- A lot of deleted old / unused images and folders, as well as a deleted entry in the skin.ini.
Deleted:
- Deleted old images: buttons/bookmarks_visited.png, buttons/folder_closed.png and buttons/pin.png.
- Deleted old images: contacts/special06.png and contacts/special07.png.
- Deleted old images: icons/new_page.png, icons/unite_globe.png and icons/dropup.png. I`m not sure about deleting the `dropup.png - this image is still in use and is lacking now, eg in the mail header-buttons or in the preferences header-buttons in order to display the ascending order...!
- Deleted old images in the folder selector_button/: deleted 18 images in this folder, except the image selector_selected.png.
- Deleted old skin-folders: startup_dialog/ with it`s content and toolbar_button/ with it`s content.
- Deleted old icon entry in the section [Images] of the skin.ini: Goto Widget Public Page = icons/unite_globe.png.
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: Deleted entry `Manage repositories` in the [New preferences dialog]. Deleted section [Server Whitelist Dialog]. New entry about `Thumbnails_On_Tab_Hover` in the section [New preferences dialog] as well as minor position/size changes there. Changed entry about `Login icon` in [Opera login link dialog]. Minor size changes in [Widget properties dialog].
- Language file (.lng): new entry about `Show thumbnails when hovering tabs` (-565916561) as well as several changed entries (584306170, 1101328228, 1343611705, -660321471, -2070808432, 1175524137, 1946698160, -374338826, 924948442, 646983333 and 1179516193).
Notes:
- Please note that the option `Manage repositories` in Tools → Preferences → Advanced → Security is gone.
- Note the additional option in Tools → Preferences → Advanced → Tabs dialog: new there is the checkbox `Show thumbnails when hovering tabs` (already existing in opera:config - User Prefs | Use Thumbnails in Tab Tooltips = 1/0). Unfortunately this option is still combined with `Show tooltips` in Preferences → Advanced → Browsing - so a new user still falls into the trap...!

11. February 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9770:
- New sections concerning activ/highlighted elements (in webpages) for spatial navigation. New icon entry / new icon image.
New:
- New skin.ini sections: [Active element inside], [Active element inside inverse] and [Active element outside]. The section [Active element inside] defines the border images and the transparent center image for spatial navigation (eg highlighted links if you use Shift+Arrow keys in a webpage). Please note, that the additional section [Active element inside image] is not mandatory; delivers only the items for [Active element inside] via Clone = Active element inside image. The sections [Active element inside inverse] and [Active element outside] seems to define different images to `Active element inside` for some rarely used exceptions. I recommend to draw all these images in the intended blue - so the look and behaviour is with each skin the same. In addition I recommend to set Colorize = 0 for all the new sections - so the elements are not affected by Opera`s color schemes.
- New skin-folder: /a containing the images for the new sections mentioned above.
- New icon entry in the section [Images]: Goto Widget Public Page = icons/unite_globe.png which refers to the new icon-image icons/unite_globe.png (appears where?).
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: new are the entries for `Manage whitelist` and `Show security protocols` in the section [New preferences dialog]. New is also the section [Server Whitelist Dialog] with several items, as well as the section [Classic tab options dialog] with several new entries for the new tab behaviour. Changed for the same reason are also some items in the section [New preferences dialog] inside `Group, SI_IDPREFS_WINPREFDLG, Tabs-group...` as well as minor position changes inside `Group, SI_IDPREFS_WINPREFDLG, Browser-group...`.
- Keyboard.ini: in the section [Compose window] new entry Enter ctrl = Send message and changed entry from `s ctrl = Add attachment` to o ctrl = Add attachment. In the section [Application] changed entries from `Platform Mac, ] Ctrl Shift` to `Platform Mac, } Ctrl` and from `Platform Mac, [ Ctrl Shift` to `Platform Mac, { Ctrl` as well as deleted entries `Plus Shift = Zoom in,10`, `"= Ctrl" = Zoom in,10` and `Feature Extendedshortcuts, Platform Windows-Unix-Mac, * = Zoom to,100`.
- Language file (.lng): new additional entries concerning the new tabs behaviour (-660321471, -2070808432, 1175524137, -1338654854, -1204073099 as well as -969450188 and -1527352213)
- Fastforward.ini: contains some changes too.
Notes:
- Please note the new option: `Manage repositories` in Tools → Preferences → Advanced → Security.
- Note the changed Tools → Preferences → Advanced → Tabs dialog: new there is the option `Use thumbnails in window cycle` (opera:config - User Prefs | Use thumbnails in window cycle = 1/0) and new is there the dropdown for `When closing a tab` (opera:config - User Prefs | Activate Tab On Close = 0 is `Activate the last active`, 1 is `Activate the tab to the right` and 2 is `Activate the first tab opened from closing tab`)
- Note also that some older options in the tabs dialog are collected now in a separate dialog called `Classic tab options`.

Changed:
- On the [Tooltip skin], mentioned in the previous changelogs, the Text color= works now again as it should be.
Note:
- Please note the new checkbox: `Show notifications for widgets` in Tools → Preferences → Advanced → Notifications.
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: new is the entry for `Show notifications for widgets` in the [New preferences dialog], as well as some minor position changes there.
- Keyboard.ini: the precondition `Platform mac` is deleted for `Right ctrl` and `Left ctrl`, so these shortcuts should work now on other platforms too.
- Menu.ini: the entry for `M_DEVELOPER_TOOLS` is changed again.

25. January 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9745:
- Regression in the skinnable tooltips. Changes again in native skins.
Changed:
- The [Tooltip skin], mentioned in the changelog for 9745, accepts no longer a custom color for the text (Text color=); the tooltips text is always black. I hope that will be re-changed; because this way it is not possible to draw the tooltips with a dark background. In addition it is not possible to set Padding= or Margin= for tooltips - so at the moment the Tooltip skin is not fully skinnable.
Changed:
- The base of the `Native windows skin` seems to be changed again - with each preview there are some improvements.
Changed ini files:
- Dialog.ini: deleted is the radiobutton entry `Hidden` in the [Widget properties dialog].

Opera 9.5, 18.preview, 9745 [⊗]
18. January 2008 - Skin changes since the preview-9735:
- New: a new image type for stretched pictures, the tooltips are now skinnable. Corrected: Pagebar close button works normal now. Changed: several things in native skins
New:
- Type = Boxstretch is a completely new image type for sections; together with Stretchborder=xy a new key entry. If a section have the Type = Boxstretch, only the Tile center is taken, and Stretchborder=xy (desired numeric value in pixels, default if no entry is 2) defines how much is taken from the original tile center in order to draw the outer parts - the center part is then drawed with the rest, stretched horizontally and vertically. The outer top/bottom parts are stretched horizontally only and the outer left/right parts are stretched vertically only. The outer corner parts are not stretched. Very practical for button areas with rounded corners (because the corner parts are excluded and the top / bottom / left and right parts are partly excluded from stretching by Stretchborder=. So we can have now larger base images which are nicer if they are shrunken by Boxstretch. Also suitable for toolbars or gradients. Example:
[Example skin]
Type = BoxStretch
Tile center = imagefolder/center.png
Stretchborder = 16

Margin= and Padding= seems to work as intended for the sections where Boxstretch/Stretchborder is in use. Also Border= and Border color= works as expected, and Blend= in .hover sections too. Width= and Height= are ignored eg in toolbar sections, but if I define a common button as Boxstretch section, eg [Go to homepage], then Width=/Height= works as expected - defines the desired final size. Finally I found a strange effect: if the original Tile center is about 70 x 70 px or smaller the stretched images are not blurred/interpolated, but if the original is larger than 70 x 70 the stretched result is blurred/interpolated. There is no blur at all for Type = Boxstretch if in opera:config-multimedia-`Interpolate images` is deactivated (the Type = Image is not affected by this setting).
- Here a shorter explanation: the type Boxstretch combines the advantages of the types Boxtile and Image - only 1 pic stretched like the type `Image` but with borders excluded from stretching like the type `Boxtile`:
- The already existing [Tooltip skin] draws now the background for common tooltips too. Formerly this section (if defined) was the base for the tab thumbnails background (behind the [Thumbnail widget skin]) - now it is responsible for common tooltips too. Padding, Margin or Spacing have no effect in the [Tooltip skin] or the [Thumbnail widget skin] and: the `Thumbnail widget skin` is always drawed 1px smaller and on the top of the `Tooltip skin`! If you like to have different backgrounds for tooltips and thumbs, the only way to avoid the 1px-`bug` is to draw a 1px border in the [Tooltip skin] section with the same color as the thumbs background. Bear in mind that in the standard skin the Tooltip skin is defined as clone of the Edit skin.
Changed:
- The base of the `Native windows skin` seems to be changed. I`m not so familiar with native skins, but I noted color changes on the tabs and the panel selector (seems to be under construction). In addition several items have now it`s native base: close buttons on tabs and on notifiers, tooltips, notifiers, the expand button in the `Delete private data` dialog and the arrows in listview headers (see the official changelog for 9745).
Corrected:
- Forget the content of the addendum in the changelog for 9735; all the things mentioned there are corrected now.
Notes:
Changed ini files:
- Changes in the menu.ini: deleted is the item about `Show on personal bar` in the [Contact trash popup menu] and changed is the link to the `Developer tools` in the [Advanced tools menu] - with the interesting new precondition `Feature...`!
- The language file (.lng) contains a correction about `Automatic retry actions in SSL` (1090463264) as well as a correction for `Could not save` (-169802367).

Opera 9.5, 17.preview, 9735 [⊗]
11. January 2008 - No skin changes since the preview-9721, but see the addendum
Addendum, 14. January 2008:
- Bug or intended? The subsections .selected, .selected.hover and .pressed.selected for [Pagebar close button skin] are ignored by the preview 9735. In some skins (where only the selected-tabs have a close button) the button disappears now completely, even if `Show close button on each tab` is activated. In my opinion it is a real need to have this possibility (thanks to Blinkybill for the help finding the key point; there is also a comment from Mitchman2 on myOpera about that).
- In addition it seems that the fallback-behaviour for the [Pagebar close button skin] (at least) have changed too: before, the entry `Fallback foreground = 1 or 0` in the section [Options] included the `Pagebar close button skin`, but now this section is included in `Fallback background = 1 or 0` (since preview 9500). So in all the skins where `Fallback background = 0` is set, the close buttons on tabs are disappearing now! Please note, that the default fallback is 1 (enabled) for both if the entries are lacking - and that should be the normal case for each custom skin; you cannot know future sections...
- Also the `recognize-order` for sections seems to be changed; no problem normally (since 9735). But if a skin.ini contains a section twice by mischance, the new behaviour can have unforeseen successions. So it is at least a good opportunity to check your modified skins about double sections and double entries...
Note:
- There appears a new tooltip on the pagebar close button: `Close tab (Ctrl+W)`. In my opinion this tooltip should change to `Locked tab` (or no tooltip) if the current tab is locked.
Changed ini files:
- Please note the small correction in the keyboard.ini at the end of the section [Widget properties dialog].
- The language file (.lng) contains an addition about `Developer tools` (391062233).

21. December 2007 - No skin changes since the preview-9694
- ADDENDUM about the `dialog-expand` buttons: with the current preview 9716 we have 3 different dialog-expand buttons.
- The first one is the old variant which is defined through the [Push button skin], appearing for example in Tools - Preferences - Search - Edit as `Details` button.
- The second is defined with the new [Disclosure Triangle Skin] for the icon and [Expand Hover Skin] for the images around text and icon; appearing in File - Synchronize Opera as `Opera Link options` button.
- The third variant is defined with [Disclosure Triangle Skin] too for the icon but with [Expand Skin] for the images around text and icon; appearing in Tools - Delete private data as `Detailed options` button.
- I cannot see any difference between the second and the third method, and I cannot understand why it is necessary to have 3 different ways for the same thing: to open/close an expanded dialog...
- And in addition we have currently the [Expand Icon Skin] as well as the two entries Expand Enabled = expand_button/icon-enabled.png and Expand Disabled = expand_button/icon-disabled.png in [Images] which are apparently not in use (at least with win as OS).
Changed ini files:

14. December 2007 - Skin changes since the preview-9681:
- A new section and some changed and new icon entries in the skin.ini as well as the corresponding new/moved folders and images. Good news: the `Sizeable spacers` are working now correctly!
- New section in skin.ini: [Account skin] containing currently only the Spacer = 5 entry. Appearing where?
- New account entries inside [Images] in skin.ini: Opera Account Enabled = account/enabled.png, Opera Account Disabled = account/disabled.png, Opera Account Failed = account/failed.png which are completely new images as well as the known animated Opera Account Busy = account/busy.gif
- New link entries inside [Images] in skin.ini: Link Failed = link/failed.png, Link Enabled = link/enabled.png and Link Disabled = link/disabled.png
- Deleted entries inside [Images] in skin.ini: Status Image Busy = status/busy.gif, Status Image Failed = status/failed.png, Status Image Succeeded = status/succeeded.png and Status Image Disabled = status/disabled.png
- New skin folder/images: account/ containing the new grey/green/red images disabled.png, enabled.png and failed.png as well as the well known animated busy.gif (formerly in /status) mentioned above. But where all the new things appearing?
- Changed skin folder/images: the old folder /status have changed the name now to link/ which contains the already existing black/green/red icons for the sync option - disabled.png and failed.png, as well as enabled.png (formerly succeeded.png) mentioned above
- I cannot find the places where the new `Account-things` appearing, perhaps they fit needs for other OS than win(xp) or they are for future use?
- The corrected grey images from the expand/ folder (mentioned in the previous changelog) you can see in the File - Synchronize Opera dialog; on the `Opera link options-button` if hover. But on other places it seems to be not yet realized (Delete private data dialog or dialogs with `Details...`-buttons...)
- Please note the changes in the dialog.ini: concerning the `Opera login link dialog` again and the `Opera account dialog`
- The language file (.lng) contains additions about `unknown strings` (1090463264), `plug-in failed` (1160366217, 310606220) and `filechooser` (-1686219948)
- The `Sizeable spacer` mentioned in the previous changelogs works now correctly also in winxp: e.g. Spacer,,50 for 50px in the toolbar.ini no longer resets to the default of 15 px if something changed in the same toolbar - well done. So we have now the possibility to create individual spacers in the desired size.

30. November 2007 - Skin changes since the preview-9665:

- Corrected images: expand_button/center.png and center-left.png, center-right.png, bottom-center.png, top-center.png are no longer corrupted now; they are in use for the [Expand Hover Skin.hover] (in use where?)
- Please note the changes in the dialog.ini: concerning the `Opera login link dialog`, the `Widget properties dialog` and the `Security information dialog`
- The language file (.lng) contains additions (1616276857, -265640213, 98463123 and 221648680), changes (1578430811, -609046020, -16709870 and -1514511917) as well as a deleted entry (-1000537489) concerning `Opera:widgets` which is no longer available
- About the `Sizeable spacer` mentioned in the changelog for build 9665: at least with winxp the normal `Fixed spacer` seems to be corrected - appears now with about 15px space as before. Also a sizeable spacer seems to be possible at first glance (Spacer,,50 for 50px in the toolbar.ini), but unfortunately such a spacer is set to the default of about 15px if you change something inside the same toolbar - so this `feature` works not for winxp...

23. November 2007 - Skin changes since the preview-9656:
- New section in the skin.ini, as well as some changes in other ini-files; especially about `sizeable spacers` in the toolbar.ini
- New section: [Dropdown edit skin], appears as individual background for the Address-dropdown and the Zoom-dropdown. If this section not exists, you see there the [Dropdown skin]. Seems to be a forgotten thing; works at least since v8.0. So for all the draggable fields we have now:
- [Dropdown skin] - Identify-dropdown, Accounts-dropdown, as well as for all other dropdowns if not defined as own sections
- [Dropdown edit skin] - e.g. Address-dropdown, Zoom-dropdown
- [Dropdown search skin] - e.g. Quickfind-dropdown, Google-dropdown
- [Edit search skin] - e.g. Find In Page-searchfield, Google-searchfield
- [Edit skin] - e.g. Quick Download-field, as well as for a lot of other (not draggable) fields
Note: only [Dropdown edit skin] and [Dropdown search skin] are prepared to fit the `mini status toolbar` - all the others are a bit to high and there is no way to change that...
- Please note some changes in the dialog.ini: about the `Authentication dialog` and the `Link and Sync signup dialogs`
- The language file (.lng) contains additions about error messages for `Telnet` and a new entry for `Installed widgets` (try also `Opera:widgets` as input for the addressfield)
- The toolbar.ini includes new interesting entries for `Platform Mac` (in [Document toolbar.content]) concerning the new Sizeable spacers. They are also available for Win, try once: Spacer,0,50 or Spacer,,30 - results in a `fixed` spacer with 50 or 30 pixels - the old fixed spacer had about 15px. This option seems to be not yet finished (each change on the same toolbar resets the new spacers to zero px; also the standard fixed spacer `appears` with zero px).
- Note also the old well known behaviour; the same parameter used for buttons and so on results in a changed font size, e.g. Status,,120 gives 120% font size for the status field or Button,"Home",90=Go to homepage gives 90% fontsize for the home-button (unfortunately we cannot use such buttons for Drag and drop from a web page...).

- New section: [Expand icon skin], only paddings there, appears where?
- New images: expand_button/open.png and expand_button/close.png which are in use as Tile center for [Disclosure triangle skin] and [Disclosure triangle skin.selected]. They are duplicates of the old icons/group_closed.png and icons/group_open.png. Appearing as button icons for the new expanded dialogs like the `Delete private data dialog` or `Mail authentication failed dialog` and so on.
- New entry in the section [Images]: Mail no body = icons/mail_nobody.png is designed to appear for downloaded mails without body, where exactly?.
- New image: icons/mail_nobody.png, mentioned above.
A résumé about the new expanded dialog buttons: Unknown is the sense of the [Expand icon skin], but with the [Disclosure triangle skin] you define the icon for the expander button, and with the [Expand skin] you define the things around the icon and text; padding, spacing, text color and so on (also a clone of the Push button skin is possible here, though unsightly oversized at the right due to the necessary space for translated button titles).
- Please note the new sections in the dialog.ini: Mail authentication failed dialog], [Opera login link dialog] and [Opera account dialog] as well as the deleted sections [Sync login guest dialog] and [Sync shutdown dialog].
- The keyboard.ini have a new section [Expand widget], containing the new commands Open expand and Close expand.
- The language file (.lng) contains new entries concerning `Mail authentication failed` and `Login details`.
- The toolbar.ini includes a useful secret: Button style = 4 inserted manually to any [Xyz-toolbar.style] section, sets Images and text on left on any desired toolbar (except the Tab bar middle part - [Pagebar.style])! The new option appears not in Appearance - Toolbars - Style. - Besides: the actions Make readable and Zoom to,100 if used as commands in the same button, as mentioned in the 9594 Changelog , are working now (at least if `Zoom to` is in use as +command, since build 9600), also the old button: Zoom in,10 + Zoom to,100 works again.

12. October 2007 - No skin changes since the preview-9562:
- No changes in the skin.ini and no changed images
- About APNG-support for skins: currently APNG works partly, but there are some unfinished parts: 1) APNG-animated button images changing not the size if another size than 100% is set for `Icon size`. 2) APNG-animations displays only the first frame colorized with a color scheme. 3) APNG-animations won`t work for the [Selector Button Skin.hover].
Changes in ini- and language-files:
- Note some changes/additions in the ini- and lng-files, among other things; the `Disable` (reload every) thing is now called `Page default`, the new `Update` button for feeds, as well as the new command `Make readable` which zooms selected text (besides: Make readable and Zoom to,100 seems not to work if used as commands in the same button, also with the old button: Zoom in,10 + Zoom to,100 the `Zoom to,100` works no longer...) ADDENDUM: works again since 9600.
- Note the new styling for opera:historysearch

- No changes in the skin.ini and no changed images, but perhaps there are changes for the APNG support; will be reported here...

And as usual:
- Note some additions in the menu.ini, about the new `Never` (reload every) command for pages or speed dial
- Note also some corrections and additions in the language file (.lng), e.g. `Create Follower tab` instead of `Create linked` or `Move spam to trash` instead of `Empty spam`, as well as for the Never reload thing mentioned above

Opera 9.5, 2. preview, 9523 [⊗]
Skin changes since the preview-9500:
- Opera now supports APNG 1.0 (animated png) on webpages and on skins too. Please activate `Tools - Quick preferences - Enable Gif/SVG Animation` in order to see APNG animations in webpages (demos: here and here). In order to create apng-files you can try the Gif Movie Gear 4.2.0 APNG - please follow there the `Getting started`-steps (thanks to Lars). The quality difference between gif and apng in a skin and on webpages is immense. And the advantage of apng: you see the first frame instead of the animation if the browser doesn`t supports apng - so a skin containing apng-animations works also with older Opera versions (displays the first frame there) and a webpage with apng-animations, visited with another/older browser, displays the first frame too. See also the community thread Skinning with APNG
- New: Pagebar Document Loading Icon = inside the section [Images]. Appears instead of the `Window Document Loading Icon` and appears only on the tabs - e.g. inside the windows panel or on the addressbar you see still the `Window Document Loading Icon` (thanks to Lars)
- No more disappearing numbers and borders on configured speeddial thumbs
- Note that the `Pagebar Close Button Skin` now appears on the notifiers at the right too
- Note also the `Stop` button appearing during check or send on the new popup at the bottom of the mail panel
- Since preview-9500, changed view for the [Header button skin]. In dialogs or in mail views too, if you see the horizontal headers together with scrollbars; the right part of the header, above the scrollbar is now separated (and disabled by Opera). That makes sense, but is not very nice. You can define own darker or lighter images for the [Header button skin.disabled] in order to reach the same brightness like for the `Header button skin` (thanks to Skinner* and Ayush)
And besides:
- The Viewbar is back again with the appropriate entries in the toolbar.ini and with the old checkbox in Appearance - Toolbars. The button to toggle the viewbar you find in Appearance - Buttons - Browser view
- Note also the changed Check and Send Mail buttons in the toolbar.ini (now without `Stop check or send`)

Thanks to the team for the increased rendering speed! New are the Restore windows possibility inside the `Closed pages menu`, the Sync bookmarks option in the `File menu`, the Open with (FF, Ie?) entries in the `Document Popup Menu`, the History search - reachable with `opera:historysearch` or by typing in the searched into the addressbar, as well as the Drag to scroll switch in `opera:config#UserPrefs?|ScrollIsPan?`. But there are more things...
The Window cycler is renewed too; displays the current thumbnail only now (Opera:config - User prefs - `Use Thumbnails in Window Cycle` activated and then use CTRL+TAB in order to see the Window cycler).
NEW sections/entries:
