OperaShow turns the browser into an advanced presentation tool which has several advantages over other popular presentation tools (e.g. PowerPoint from Microsoft):
- It's a standard part of a small and fast Web browser
- It uses (X)HTML as the document format which is lightweight compared to proprietary formats used by other tools
- Since it is text based, any decent text editor will do.
- You can easily publish your presentation on the Web, and present it from the Web.
- Easily navigate through your presentation using keyboard or mouse gestures.
- Switch between OperaShow mode showing the slides and normal web mode showing slide contents and additional slide notes/handouts.
Opera Behaviour in OperaShow mode:
- goes into fullscreen mode : no scrollbars, no menus, nothing except for the document
- splits the current document into pages -- exactly where is governed by the style sheet
- applies fonts and colors suitable for a presentation -- typically, fonts are larger
- hides and shows content depending on the style sheet
- press the F11 key to enter OperaShow and F11 again or escape to return - with some versions of Microsoft Windows (such as 98), if the taskbar does not disappear when you enter OperaShow mode, click on the taskbar, then click back on Opera
- press PgDn and PgUp to navigate, or use the space bar.
