WANTED

  1. Sticky Searches: M2 has innovated well in using 'access points' to organise email. Email contains rich data to allow the filtering system to work well. In bookmarks and contacts, this meta-data is much more sparse, so rewriting bookmarks to use access points would not work well. BUT, if Opera introduced "sticky-searches" they could 'emulate' access points, while not abandoning the current folder hierarchy. Opera already have a nice dynamic search (quick find), that acts like a filter matching the entered text. If one could simply save such a quick-find as a 'virtual folder', then clicking that folder would do a quick-find match presented as the folder contents. That is effectively an access point! Allowing the quick-find to access all the data in a bookmark (including access date for example), would allow these pseudo-access-points to easily filter in many ways, like "Recently created" bookmarks. You keep the folder hierarchy intact, but gain rich functionality.
  2. The "Cycle pages" algorithms should be updated, There should be "created order", recently used order" and "visual order" (page tabs positions on the page bar). The "without showing list" should be a seperate toggle that applies to each of the above options. When closing tabs, these settings should also apply.
  3. Refresh/reload Hotlist Panels. Have both the option to Reload on demand or the auto reload every ... (like on the main doc menu items). Don't leave the reloading up to the site. We users like to "dock" many different non-panel-like websites.
  4. Improved bookmarking system. Opera should store the following in bookmarks: A)UA spoof mode, B)Java/Javascript/plug-ins enabled or disabled, C)fullscreen/SSR/normal window. They should also add some more meta-data, like a rating system, so one could quick find different priority bookmarks. Quick-find should cover all the data in a bookmark, so one could search by access date for example.
  5. Make the menu bar a drag-n-drop object, to have the possibility to place anywhere for FULL customisation of the UI (it is currently possible in both IE and Firefox). Make the default non-draggable and adjust the screen-reader functions to preserve accessibility.
  6. Search.ini editor - I know there is a good external tool for this, but this really should be built-in. Opera are holding off on this because it may upset some of Opera's search partners.
  7. New option in context menu of images - In the accessability guide lines you'll find a proposal for the attribute "longdesc" inside img tags. To get the image description such a menu option would be nice.
  8. M2 : Find out in which accesspoints a message is stored, and a way to navigate to the next accesspoint (by button and/or key command).
  9. M2 : Finding duplicates. Especially when importing multiple mail accounts, there will be duplicate messages. It should be possible with M2 to find these, and replace them with just one entry.
  10. M2 : Dragging a contact to the 'To'/'CC'/'BCC' field should add that contact's email address.
  11. M2 : Choosing which columns to display - in particular being able to see both To and From.
