Thanks...

Ian, the site completely destroys itself under Safari. Thought you might want to know...

221.9.33.65.cfl.rr.com (2003-11-15 02:56:08)

Thanks for the info, I can't access Safari (wish I could!) and I'm patiently waiting for KHTML engine to be available for windows...

NonTroppo (2003-11-15 12:07:19)

I have probably learned more from YOU than anyone else associated with Opera!

This site is Refreshing in style, in design, and in organization. And I might even say "Delicious!".~~~~

Thanks,
Staretz

Your current tips work fine on Opera7.50tp1?

218.145.25.48 (2003-12-21 12:26:46)

Staretz: thanks, that warmed the cockles'o'my heart! Good wholesome food is the name of the game...

Above message: some will break, some won't, and some (i.e. spellcheck) will be rendered useless - they will be checked. If in doubt, assume they don't work unless specifically mentioning 7.5. That way when your house collapses through one of the tips, my crack team of sharks lawyers can cover my ass...

NonTroppo (2003-12-22 00:53:31)

Cool page and "Thanks!" for doing such a great job supporting Opera. The page and all of the materials on it need to be mandatory reading for everyone using the web's best browser. :)

NT: I seem to have forgotten my password and the site won't resend it to me - can you resend it to the address on file for GregLeffler?

h-66-134-154-245.chcgilgm.dynamic.covad.net (2004-09-17 00:21:31)

Hello. You know that wiki is broken? Last change is from: Wed, 23 Mar 2005. But today is 28 March. And last changes disappered... :(

AdamDziura (2005-03-28 20:13:15)

Adam, my host has been fucking around and losing stuff. My own backups are corrupted because of some misconfigurement of theirs. I have written to them and I'm hoping they have a backup to restore too, but I doubt it...

I will be switching to a new host over the next few days... The new host will be a bit slower, but they have a very strict backup policy and better technical abilities.

NonTroppo (2005-03-29 12:48:43)

Ian, does that mean that there does not exist a noncorrupt post-23-III backup? :(

MooseCSS (2005-03-29 13:27:05)

My backups have a .gz corruption. This appears not to be a fault of my hosts but a bug in the version of phpMyAdmin. Their backups, well, the server misconfigurement seems to be because of a PHP issue that downed the backup script. The recent error codes were due to their recompiling php to overcome these bugs, but I don't think they have working backups either. Dreamhost, no matter their slow SQL, have very good backup systems and the move will hopefuly solve this once and for all.

NonTroppo (2005-03-29 14:03:34)

Could you, please, NonTroppo tell me how many diskspace taken your website and how much is an average up and downstream to your server, but daily, weekly and monthly ?

janbar :))

217.153.29.142 (2005-03-29 14:51:58)

The database is about 12MB and the wiki code takes about 250kb + styles/graphics. The new host has ample room (120GB bandwidth and 2400MB space), but what may be a good idea, is to set up an automatic mirror. I don't know much about how one automates mirroring of MySQL databases, but I suspect rsync would do it easily through a cron script. Anyone know about MySQL mirroring?

NonTroppo (2005-03-29 19:24:56)

I found on my disk in Opera cache 2 pages: OperaPL and IdentyfikacjaOpery. I repaired it. :)
But last version of SkryptyUzytkownika isn't found.

AdamDziura (2005-03-29 22:15:48)

Thanks Adam! I appreciate all your collective help...

NonTroppo (2005-03-29 23:53:09)

I have only that elements in my Opera cache :

Anyone is usefull ?

janbar.:))

217.153.29.142 (2005-03-30 01:40:23)

@Janbar: tą stronę z twojego cache'a nontroppo.org/wiki/SkryptyUzytkownika porównaj z porównaj ze http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:zfrR7ssqVWUJ:nontroppo.org/wiki/SkryptyUzytkownika+skryptyuzytkownika&hl=en
Czy masz tam więcej czy mniej.

Podobnie sprawdź nontroppo.org/wiki/IdentyfikacjaOpery z IdentyfikacjaOpery

p.s. Możesz się zarejestrować - to niczym nie grozi ;)

AdamDziura (2005-03-30 10:28:38)

Ale resztę stron też możesz porównać :)

AdamDziura (2005-03-30 10:29:36)

well, nontroppo, i cant add much to what has been said except thanks a million for your soul concerning not only Opera but life in general. your blog is full of some good soul searching that we all need to make in these perilous times. confronting fascism, openly, has never been easy nor is it easy to confront it behind the scenes and in the dark and it is especially difficult to confront it within ones' own deep soul/self.

concerning the london bombings would you, perhaps, entertain the view...of only for a moment...that it was an 'internal job...' meant to fire up the Al Queda ruse again and to further terrorize the citizenry (people) into accepting the 'accepted' propaganda view heralding us into an age of mass terror that the NWO bandits may all the more profit at thegeneral loss of our deepfelt humano-spiritual being?

in any case we know the WTC, herre in the states, was a total fabrication from the get go as was the Oklahoma City fiasco...all arranged by those who espuse the Hegelian dialectic to a tee...

Love your work and I that I can add to this wiki. My Opera has already improved 100% thanks to your tips and kind inspiration.

Thanks

StormWulf (2005-07-31 10:32:56)

Thanks for your kind words.

We will never know if the London bombings were an "inside job", though I actually really doubt it. I can easily imagine a young British Muslim fed on a diet of recent images from Iraq and Afghanistan, incensed with the human tragedy of Palestine[1] and filled with the tribal associational-ism of religious intolerance willing to commit suicide. Of course, Blair has and will try to make political capital of it, the devious snake that he is…

Very nice website. Why do you use Windows and hope for Safari?
I use Linux, and use Opera, Firefox, a very nice Webkit browser called 'Midori' which is excellent (similar to Safari on Mac, not so similar on Windows), we have KHTML browsers too - I also use Seamonkey sometimes.

You should think about trying Linux out for size. I personally recommend Debian (apt-get is simply the very best, fastest, and most user friendly package manager).

I used the 'InFF?' button to create 'InMid?' to open in Midori, and 'InMoz?' is great, it opens Seamonkey for me.

If you have uploaded files to your PlayBook? and are wrineondg where these go and how to see them all, then here is the answer.Type this URL into your PlayBook?'s browser:file:///accounts/1000/mutualNote that it is three / after file: and not two.And for the curious geeks amongst us, file:/// will show the root folder structure. From there you can browse to anything the PlayBook?'s security lets you see.Pleased browsing!
